Information about the QUADRUM Steam Motor
It's energy efficient and outputs a lot less emissions.
The first QUADRUM mini-CHP-plant will be constructed in Villa Steam Castle in the city of Parainen in Finland.

QUADRUM, planetary movement, rotary piston engine
According to the invention, the central axis of the moving rotation piston rotates according to the rotation of the piston, the planetary path, thus that the piston rotates around the central axis.
1) In the twisting structure of a perpendicular piston, the component against the crank torsion bar influences the polar-axis in a rotational manner, and the kinetic energy, which is transmitted as the piston rotates with the planetary path, is transferred to the main axis.
2) The component that is against the perpendicular crank, existing on the rotating piston’s central axis, influences the central axis of the piston in a rotational manner, and the kinetic energy, which is transmitted around the central axis as the piston rotates, is transferred to the main axis.
Applications 20085817 – FINLAND, 20115769 – FINLAND, interim decisions have been completed and PCT/ FI2012/ 050740 has been filed with the Finnish National Board of Patents and Registration of Finland.

The planetary drive of the rotating central axis of the piston occurs in the rotary path around the centre of the cylinder casing
By providing a piston rotation impulse at a determined rotational support point around the polar-axis, to be rotational, thus, that the rotation of every piston angle is focused to one general polar-axis, always the same degree of circular arc, for which for every pulse, there is the same degree of rotational motion around the central axis. The rotational motion of the piston around the polar-axis, as well as the central axis’ planetary motion, cause the pulse of the rotational motion around the piston’s central axis, whilst both axis have a torsion crank, through which the tangential force can be influenced. These two tangential forces can develop two simultaneous uninterrupted lines of torque.
In 2012, tests have been made in which the rotation tangential force influenced by two axis was combined by a power transmission device formed by driving wheels, thus that the rotation speed of the axis increased one and a half times more than the rotation speed of the piston. In the same relationship, the ability to revoke the loading force (torque) of the axis is also increased, as well as the amount of mechanical energy that is produced.
QUADRUM - The Steam Motor
The most significant feature of this QUADRUM-SteamMotor is the "multi pole" construction. QUADRUM is provided with a square piston (=quadrum in latin). The difference from the former "rotating piston motors" is the enormous and smooth torque. The QUADRUM has no need for a flywheel due to that the working processes in the cylinder appears so many times every turn of the piston. QUADRUM do not need any in- & outlet valve mechanism.
Two separate QUADRUM units do not need to be mechanically syncronized when the set up is serial or parallel running of the steam feed.
The aim of the QUADRUM is tobe used in de-centralized energyproduction.
The main difference towards the common steam turbine is that the QUADRUM is not sensitive for saturated staem, not even for really moisty steam. The QUADRUM runs effectively on very low steam pressures. Thanks to this feature, there is not any high demand on the technical solutions for the steam boiler used for the QUADRUM. Of course will a small super heating make the isentropic value (energy content in the steam) much better.
The other main difference against the steam turbine is the enormous torque value of the QUADRUM.
The manufacturing costs as the expenses for running the QUADRUM will be significant lower than all the former types of power machines, as the "Otto-type" piston engines and the steam- & gasturbines.
The steam outflow from the QUADRUM contains a lot of heat energy. This excess energy is an ideal for the heating of the buildings around the QUADRUM CHP, (Combined Heat & Power) power plant.
The ratio between electic & heat production is very easy to achieve > automatize.

A QUADRUM CHP-mini Heat & Powe Plant is a perfect solution for a safe way of having a non breakable energy system to any home, farms, greenhouses, sow mills, living- & house barges, steam powered boats and small companies. By connecting to the natinal power net you can even earn som money selling all the excess energy to the power net.
QUADRUM is intended and planned to be used in all power plants using bio-fuels. For example, 40 % of the energy production in the eastern municipalities in Finland is based on bio fuels. A long lasting energy production in the future ought to be based mostly on bio fuels.
All the time during the development of the QUADRUM has the interest from small power plants and makers of CHP:s all around Europa been very intensive.
The Produktion of QUADRUM will first av all start with units of 5 kW, 25 kW och 50 kW effect. These SteamMotors will be delivered in form of singel, double (2 ) and trippleunits, (3 rotaing pistons).
WO 2010/026288 A1 is the latest patent pending.
In the summer 2010 we achieved 45 % torque value during a test run of a QUADRUM assembled in compound mode, (2 units in serial mode.
In the year 1998, a technical high school in Finland achieved a torque of 52 % during a test run of the QUADRUM using compressed air as the driving gas.
